The Moto X, the first real Google phone, is the coolest thing Motorola has done since being acquired by Google. It offers five features that has not been seen in any other smartphones before, not even the iPhone. The highly anticipated Moto X is Motorola’s latest attempt to break into a smartphone market dominated by Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics. The Moto X features a 4.7-inch AMOLED display which packs 316 pixels per inch. According to Moto execs, it measured thousands of hands, figured out the average hand size, designed a phone to fit the hand, and then squeezed in the largest display that it possibly could.
It is also the first smartphone that users can customise in thousand of ways. You can choose from two front colours — black or white — 18 back colours, and 7 accent colours. The accents will be the buttons and the ring around the camera lens. Customers can make their own Moto X design from the over 2,000 designs and colours that they are able to choose from and many more are on the way. To take advantage of the extra space created by the bulge, engineers created a stepped 2,200 mAh battery.
The Moto X is priced starting at $199 with a two-year contract and will be available on all major US carriers by the end of August or early September.
